About this Event

Join us for an evening showcasing the powerful, creative work produced by students, artists, and faculty in the . This event celebrates the collaborative efforts within the program, where students, faculty and artists have come together to explore and address social issues through artistic expression. Featuring performances, interactive exhibits and conversations, the evening invites you to experience firsthand the innovative projects and impactful dialogues emerging from this unique partnership. This event is free and open to the public.


About the Emory ASJ Program

Currently celebrating its fifth year, the Arts & Social Justice Program unites Emory faculty with Atlanta-based artists to co-teach courses, incorporating creative expression as a tool to examine societal issues. Each partnership fosters a hands-on approach that connects Emory students to the Atlanta community, building skills to engage in meaningful social change.

This year, Emory's ASJ Program is excited to announce a new collaboration with Spelman College, uniting students and faculty from both institutions to explore social justice through innovative artistic practices and shared creative spaces.


Student Transportation

Complimentary bus transportation is available for Emory students between campus and the venue. Please indicate on your registration if transportation assistance is needed. Walk-ins are welcome as space permits.

  • Culture, Arts, and Social Movements

Lydia Fort, assistant professor in theater studies, with Jasmine Nicole Williams, printmaker and muralist

  • GLOBE Track, Fall 2024

Anna Yaffee, associate professor of emergency medicine, and Jay Shah, pediatric and interventional radiologist at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, with Umi IMAN, dancer and Indigenous arts curator

  • Live Electronic Music (Emory College) and Improvisation II: Movement Invention (Spelman College)
    Adam Mirza, assistant professor in composition at Emory University, and T. Lang, associate professor and inaugural department chair of dance performance and choreography at Spelman College, with Kacie Laeders, sound designer and podcaster
