Join us for Emo Sessions at The Pottery Shop — a beginner-friendly “Try It” pottery wheel experience set to your favorite early-2000s heartbreak hits. It’s slower, a little nostalgic, a little dramatic… and surprisingly therapeutic.

Choose Your Experience
Single Wheel – $55 per person
• Your own wheel for 60 minutes
• Includes 3 (1-lb) balls of clay
• Firing of 1 piece* included
• $10 non-refundable deposit required to reserve (balance due in studio)
Tandem Wheel – $90 for two people
• Share one wheel for 60 minutes
• Includes 3 (1-lb) balls of clay
• Firing of 2 pieces* included
• $20 non-refundable deposit required to reserve (balance due in studio)
What to Expect
This experience is designed for beginners. We focus on walking you through the fundamentals — centering, pulling, and shaping your clay — in a relaxed, supportive setting.
Most first-time participants create smaller, simple pieces such as:
• A small bowl
• A small cylinder
• A small trinket dish
We do not guarantee you will make a fire-able piece*, but if your creation doesn’t survive, you may choose a finished piece as a keepsake from your session.
Important Details (Please Read)
• Ceramics is an extremely unpredictable medium. We cannot guarantee pieces won’t crack during drying, bisque firing, or glaze firing.
• Clay shrinks approximately 15% from throwing to final firing.
• Class begins and ends at the published time and lasts approximately 60 minutes total, including instructor demo and your time on the wheel.
• If your piece survives the firing process, we will apply your chosen glaze and complete the final glaze firing.
• Turnaround time is approximately 4–6 weeks before your piece is ready for pick-up.
• If time permits, additional clay may be purchased for $5 per pound, and additional pieces may be glazed and fired for $15 each.

Before You Register
• No cancellations or reschedules within 48 hours of class
• No credits or refunds for no-shows
• Ages 16+ only
• Everyone in the wheel area must be registered — no spectators
• No open-toed shoes
• Fingernails may get dirty or break
• Wear comfortable clothing that can get messy (no skirts/dresses/kilts)
• No loose jewelry or rings
• Long hair must be tied back
Because sometimes pottery is for reflection… and sometimes they’re for throwing clay while softly screaming along to songs you still know every word to.
