About this Event
The aim of this qualification is to enable candidates (working in a low-risk work environment) to be able to act as an ‘appointed person’ to take charge of the first aid arrangements, including looking after the equipment and facilities and calling the Emergency Medical Services when required. On completion, candidates will be able to deliver basic first aid to people in a range of emergency first aid situations.

Course Content
-The roles and responsibilities of a first aider
-Acting safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
-Managing an unresponsive casualty and the recovery position
-Cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
-Choking
-Bleeding
-Shock
-Minor injuries
-Safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
