EMERGENCY ADVOCACY DAY ON CAPITOL HILL — JOIN US SEPTEMBER 3RD!

To Our Syrian American Community and Allies,

The Syrian American Council (SAC) is calling on all Syrian Americans and friends of Syria to join us for an Emergency Advocacy Day on Tuesday, September 3rd in Washington, D.C., as the U.S. House of Representatives prepares to debate and vote on the FY 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) — a must-pass bill that shapes U.S. defense and foreign policy, including measures directly affecting Syria.

This is a critical moment in our collective fight for justice, dignity, and a free future for Syria — and a chance for our community to directly influence U.S. policy through meaningful presence and unified advocacy.

We now have a bipartisan bill (H.R. 3941) with over 10 co-sponsors that would fully repeal the Caesar Act sanctions — a major milestone in our advocacy. But the fight is not over. Just last month, a competing bill (H.R. 4427) advanced through the House Financial Services Committee that expands and extends the Caesar sanctions for another two years.

As part of the day’s events, we are honored to host a Special Luncheon featuring Rep. Joe Wilson, a longtime voice in Congress on U.S. policy toward Syria. This will be a unique opportunity to hear directly from a key legislator and show our collective support for ending sanctions that harm the Syrian people.

Let’s show Congress that our community is united and determined to end destructive sanctions. Together, we can push for policies that give a post-Assad Syria the chance to rebuild, heal, and thrive.

RSVP now and bring others—Syria’s future depends on it.
