In honor of 'National Coming Out Day', EMERGENCE, sponsored by Oakland Style Week, the stage again this year for a very special performance and runway spectale featuring over 20 boundary-pushing looks and garments crafted by local QTPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ designers.
EMERGENCE: LIBERATION is a community fashion show featuring powerful performances and a fashion exhibition centered around the power of coming out and taking ownership of our own body and identity, and inspiring one another towards collective solidarity, liberation, and justice.
This all-ages show represents the experience of emergence and everyone’s potential for liberation through intentional, unapologetic self-expression, subversion, playing with expansive identity, and reclamation of our sexuality and desires.

Join us for "FREAK, The After Party", a kinky, Queer (21+) dance and costume party, to celebrate the success and community of EMERGENCE: LIBERATION and EMERGENCE: FUTURE ANCESTORS!
FREAK encourages everyone to get their freak on! Come in a costume that makes you feel liberated and in touch with your wild side (the freakier, the better!) We'll be hosting special guests, DJs, and performances from your favorite freaky LGBTQIA2S+ performers and community members such as:

Any guest who attends LIBERATION (fashion show) will receive a free ticket to FREAK 🤩
Masks are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED and will be distributed at both events.
Harm Reduction Materials will also be available.
