About this Event
Join us for El Salóncito 2025, a vibrant community performance salon hosted in collaboration with Shawl-Anderson Dance Center and David Herrera Performance Company's Latinx Hispanic Dancers United initiative. This event is part of our celebration of Latinx/Hispanic Heritage Month, showcasing the richness and diversity of Latinx dance and culture.
Latinx artists have been invited to respond to the thought-provoking question, “What does it look like to celebrate and/or perform Latinidad?” Through their performances, artists will explore and express what Latinidad means to them, offering unique perspectives and creative interpretations.
Immerse yourself in the festive spirit with delicious refreshments and a joyous post-show fiesta. Tacos La Patrona will start serving at 6:30pm! Then catch a dance lesson with Valerie Mendez, enjoy the performances, and stay for the dance party!
El Salóncito offers a unique platform for Latinx artists to share their work and engage with audiences in a supportive and inclusive environment. Whether you are a dance aficionado or simply curious about Latinx culture, this event promises to deliver an unforgettable experience that celebrates identity, creativity, and community.
Tickets are limited, so reserve your spot today! Don’t miss this chance to be part of an inspiring evening that honors the beauty and diversity of Latinx dance and heritage during these tumultuous times.
Performances will include a variety of forms, including contemporary, Afro Brazilian dance, whacking, and popping.
