In this two-part hands-on workshop, students will learn foundational embroidery techniques such as threading your needle, transferring designs, and mastering a variety of simple stitches during the first session. With guidance from the instructor, students will apply their learned skills to personalize their own embroidered tote bag during the second session, perfect for everyday use or as a thoughtful handmade gift.
All materials are included! Students can arrive to class ready to create. Each participant will receive a tote bag, embroidery hoop, needles (with holder), thread/er, pin cushion, scissors, bag to keep all items in, and pattern options to choose from. Students will also leave with the knowledge and confidence to continue stitching on their own. About the Instructor:
Jenny’s grandmother taught her how to make soap on her farm in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia when she was a teenager. She loves the chemistry behind soap making and has improved her skills over the years and would like to share what she has learned with others. Jenny started her soap company in 2023 as a creative outlet and it has grown from selling at farmers markets to teaching classes at the Appalachian Arts.
