A stalwart of the Colchester jazz scene, drummer Elmer van der Hoek has been organising gigs and jams at various venues in the city for more than 15 years, the first 10 years at the Bull and subsequently at Patch, The Minories, the Foresters Arms, and Queen Street Brewhouse.
Elmer's events always feature top players of local and regional jazz talent and occasionally London-based musicians, so we thought it was about time he brought some of them to Wivenhoe!
For this special concert, Elmer has assembled a stellar line-up who'll be performing an exciting mix of swing, Latin, straightahead jazz, and jazz funk, by notable artists such as Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Roy Hargrove, Wayne Shorter, Jeff Lorber, Antônio Carlos Jobim, Mongo Santmaria, and many more!
