Eliminating Structural and Training Barriers to Strengthen Access for Women in Medicine
Description: CSW70’s priority theme focuses on “eliminating discriminatory laws, policies, and practices, and addressing structural barriers” Join Operation Smile and partners who have worked to eliminate structural and training barriers faced by women in medicine to help them advance as health care specialists and leaders. Learn about successful interventions implemented by Operation Smile, the College of Surgeons of East, Central, and Southern Africa, and the Ministries of Health of Ghana and Ethiopia to help women enter and excel in health careers. How do you include women in national surgical planning and center them in national health policies? How can you increase female representation in surgical training? How does a ministry support development of female leaders? How can clinical training models be made most accessible? Hear from leaders who have navigated these questions and developed real solutions.
This in-person event is held in the Lower Level (LL) conference room of the Salvation Army Center.
