Elephunk in the Wild is a one day outdoor festival inspired by the wild and wonderful parts of the world, and the people who live a little outside the lines. Because sometimes, you need to escape to the jungle, even if it’s right in the middle of Manchester.
Built with the Manchester community at its heart, the festival transforms the city into something unexpected. Concrete softens, colour takes over, and the space shifts into a full jungle state of mind, playful, immersive, and alive from the moment you step in.
Rooted in groove and global rhythm, the day unfolds with emerging live bands, DJs and dancers weaving sound and movement through The Yard. Expect a rich, feel good blend of funk, disco and soul, lifted by ska and brass, and carried through Latin funk, afrobeat and afro house. The kind of sound that builds slowly, then takes hold, warm, rhythmic, impossible not to move to.

Elephunk has always been about carving out spaces where people can show up exactly as they are. In the Wild takes that feeling outdoors, bigger, freer, and under open skies. It’s where strangers become familiar, where expression is the main event, and where the energy carries you from sunlit moments into something a little more electric.
We’re also proud to champion women at every level, with the majority of the team behind the festival being women building it, shaping it, and bringing it to life.
Unapologetic, welcoming and built on freedom, it draws on the long tradition of music and nightlife as a home for those who dare to be different.
