ELEKTRIC MOJO
is an East End Toronto blues band that sprung out of The Blues Corner – a monthly outdoor jam in Leslieville. Peter Briceno, a new Canadian from Venezuela had a dream to build a blues community. He organized a house band made out of his favourite musicians…
Tea Dobbin on lead vocals,
Steve Priebe on percussion
Sean Fisher on keyboards
Nathan Banchong-Silpa on guitar
Since their formation in early 2024, the band has performed all over the East End – joined by some of the best blues musicians in the city.
Steve Priebe is the groove keeper on the drum kit. He’s no stranger to sitting
behind the drums pumping out the blues and soul with plenty of mojo for several blues bands spanning over 4 decades. His passion for playing the blues
music has entertained audiences around the Toronto area. He was recently nominated for the Drummer of the Year award at the Friday Night Blues Jam
fronted by Toronto’s own blues shredder Mike Sedgewick.
Tea Dobbin the lead vocalist of Elektric Mojo and a business owner in the Beaches, began to develop her craft as a singer at an early age. Born and
raised in Toronto and the daughter of an Afro-Indo- Latin-Caribbean mother and an Irish, British, Canadian father, her multiracial heritage has exposed her to a diverse range of music. Influenced by icons like Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, Sade and Prince, her sound is an eclectic mix of rich R&B, Soul, Reggae, Jazz & Blues. Marked by her strong yet vulnerable vocals, Tea sings
with an emotional depth that easily connects her to her audience and she has
recently carved out a space for herself in the Toronto blues scene.
Sean Fisher has been a resident of the Beaches since 2012. His involvement in the entertainment scene started with two videos on Much Music’s City Limits in the 90s. He has music directed at The Second City, The Bad Dog Theatre and recently co-wrote and arranged the music for Tony Award Winner Lisa
Lambert’s musical The Ding Dong Girls (Patrons’ Pick Toronto Fringe). He has also produced several award winning musicals at The Toronto Fringe. Sean knows his way around the keyboard and how to keep your toes tapping.
Nathan Banchong-Silpa is a veteran performer with over 30 years of experience playing guitar on stage and in the studio – a seasoned musician from Bangkok, Thailand, known for soulful improvisation and electrifying guitar solos. Drawing from blues, funk, and rock, he brings passion, groove, and a unique voice to every performance – always playing from the heart and in the moment.
