Elaine Miller Bond is an author, science writer, and wildlife photographer based in wildly inspiring Bellingham, Washington. She wrote and photographed the new book, BFFs! Black-Footed Ferrets: Love for One of North America’s Most Endangered Mammals, for fellow ferret fans of all ages. Her previous titles include a series of board books—Running Wild, Living Wild, and Wild Colors of the West—and a picture-book biography, The Pupfish Hero. Bond’s photographs have appeared on Discovery Channel Canada and in Science, Scholastic, and scientific books about prairie dogs. From America’s grasslands to the Pacific Northwest and beyond, she finds endless inspiration in her love of animals and the hope of saving them.
