Big news for our April event! We are excited and delighted to welcome David Thomas to El Tango de la Gente for the first time as our guest TDJ. Doors open 19:00 – don’t miss a tanda!Since being first inspired to DJ 15 years ago by the work of Argentine DJ Damian Boggio, David has provided the music for all kinds of events, from local milongas to European festivals hosting 300+ dancers, adjusting his selection of music and energy levels to suit each occasion. He also shares his knowledge and recently ran a 2-day DJ workshop in Germany. Some of you may know David from his role as current chairperson of UKATA, the UK Argentine tango Association (website: https://www.argentinetango.org.uk/, Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ukargtango/?locale=en_GB)
If you have not been to our events before, we can advise that Upton Bishop Millennium Hall is spacious and modern, with room for social seating at one end. There is an excellent wooden dance floor, and the venue has its own large car park.
We use a good quality sound system with a speaker in each corner of the pista, because we want to be sure that dancers can always hear the music clearly.
Tea and water are provided and there will be a selection of cakes and nibbles. You are of course also very welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks.
As ever, we are looking forward very much to welcoming friends old and new.
