Tangueras y tangueros y everyone else who wants to learn to dance tango,A new concept is born: El Quinto (the 5th, on the 5th Sunday) is an event to attract new people into the wonderful world of Argentine tango.
Based on a wild idea: tango curious people coming to taste tango by dancing 1-on-1 with experienced tango dancers, to feel what it means dancing in embrace on the most beautiful music ever written for partner dances. Now is the time and the opportunity to bring in your friends to let them taste tango!

In the afternoon El Quinto is a full-blown práctica, a tango try-out bootcamp, where senior, junior and newcomers/rookies/trainees mix up to transfer knowledge and skills. As it was in the Golden Age of tango. Hard work and fun going hand-in-hand. With free mini-classes in-between.
Pianist Sebastian Rodriguez will do a mini-class on tango music and play for us in the early evening to make us dance.
In the evening El Quinto is a regular milonga/salon though with an abundant snack buffet incl. pizza slices <- all of this is included in the €12 price!!!! However, bring your own alcoholic drinks.

🏫 VENUE
Global Dance Center (GDC), Diemen-Zuid. There is a 300m2 floor -see attached pictures- at 3-4 minutes walk from the Diemen-Zuid metro + train station. By car it is just off the highway with free/cheap parking on Sundays.
🗓️ SCHEDULE/PLAN
• 14:00-17:30 guided práctica w/ mini-classes ~ DJ Cin Tomino playing music for us to dance and experiment on. It will all be oldskool style: tangueras and tangueros on the floor with total tango babies, showing them, letting them feel, taking first steps and turns together. There will be teachers doing mini-classes of 15 minutes every hour on absolute basics, and to supervise/guide the floor.
• 17:30-22:30 milonga/salon w/ party buffet ~ DJ Richard Frisart playing the best tunes and tandas bringing down da house!
ESSENTIALS
💰Entrance: afternoon práctica is free i.e. donativo-based (high hat), evening milonga €12 – preferably in cash or else via QR / Tikkie at the counter
🥑 🍌 🥪 Food/snacks (included in the price): there will be a big snacks/food table with fruits, vegetables, nuts, Turkish bread w/ humus & sweet chili dips, crackers, cheeses, dry sausages, chips, cookies, chocolate, etc, and pizza slices early during the evening
🍷 BYOD: Bring Your Own Drinks / we will have some basics covered (included in the price): water, juice, coffee, and tea but since there is no bar in the venue please bring your own alcoholic drinks!

🚇 BY METRO: From Amsterdam Central Station metro line 53 Gaasperplas, 9 stops (including Amsterdam-Amstel) to metro station Diemen-Zuid, exit Scholeksterpad, downstairs to the left then straight ahead for a 3-4 minutes walk.
🚂 BY TRAIN: Diemen-Zuid Station but probably best to go to Amsterdam Central or Amsterdam Amstel Station and change to metro line 53 Gaasperplas - see BY METRO.
🚗 BY CAR: To get there use GPS because well, modern times. Parking should be free on Sunday in the streets around but check www.prettigparkeren.nl. Parking garage: ParkBee OurDomain Dalsteindreef 6002 (€1-2 per hour).
