The Instituto Cervantes in Manchester and Leeds is pleased to present José Franco & Company who for the second consecutive year in the United Kingdom will delight us with their flamenco dance in their new project: El Lienzo de mi Baile.
Previously in the country they presented works that aimed to break with conformity and established boundaries in artistic expression. This time with their new project they will dance in the words of the creator of the show: "to experiences to childhood and to emotions. To laughter and tears to unity to family and to solitude. To true friendship and to those left behind. To destiny love and nights of madness. To moments where everything was light and to those where darkness flooded our days drawing on the canvas of my dance everything that made us happy without leaving behind what made us suffer and at the same time grow".
José Franco is a Madrid-born dancer and choreographer with a degree in Spanish Dance and Flamenco from the Carmen Amaya Professional Dance Conservatory. He founded his own company with which he has premiered several of his own shows such as Flamenco in the 21st Century Tablao and Equilibrio among others. He has been part of the companies of some of his professional peers such as Sara Baras Aida Gómez Ballet Español Rafael Aguilar Centro Andaluz de Danza and Cia Carmen Mota. Currently he works as a teacher in countries like Spain Germany and France as well as being the co-director of El Taller del Arte Espacio Creativo in Estepona.
Inmaculada Carmona born in Cádiz is a dancer with a degree in psychology. With a title in Spanish dance from Acade and training at the Marta de la Vega school in Madrid she was part of companies such as Ballet Flamenco de Madrid and Carmen Mota. She is currently a dancer at the Ballet Flamenco of Europa Park in Germany and is a teacher and co-director of El Taller del Arte Espacio Creativo in Estepona.
