Eiko Ishibashi ist eine in Japan lebende Musikerin, deren Werke u. a. von Labels wie Drag City, Black Truffle und Editions Mego veröffentlicht wurden. 2020 erhielt sie den Auftrag, Musik für die Ausstellung Japan Supernatural in der Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney zu komponieren. Diese Komposition wurde später unter dem Titel Hyakki Yagyō als Album veröffentlicht. 2021, komponierte Ishibashi den Soundtrack für Ryūsuke Hamaguchis Film Drive My Car. 2022 veröffentlichte sie ihr neues Album For McCoy und begann ihre Residency bei NTS Radio. In Fortsetzung ihrer Zusammenarbeit mit Hamaguchi komponierte sie 2023 die Filmmusik für Evil Does Not Exist. Zudem starteten sie gemeinsam das Projekt GIFT, das einen Stummfilm von Hamaguchi umfasst, der eigens zur Live-Performance von Ishibashis Musik konzipiert wurde. Mit diesem Projekt tourte sie sowohl durch Japan als auch international. Im März 2025 veröffentlichte Ishibashi ihr neues Song-Album Antigone – ihr erstes Song-Album seit sieben Jahren.

Eiko Ishibashi is a Japan-based musician whose work has been released by labels such as Drag City, Black Truffle, and Editions Mego. 2020, she was commissioned to compose music for the exhibition Japan Supernatural at The Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney. This composition was later released as the album Hyakki Yagyo. 2021, Ishibashi composed the soundtrack for Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s film Drive My Car. In 2022, she unveiled her new LP For McCoy and began her residency on NTS Radio. Continuing her collaboration with Hamaguchi, she created the score for his 2023 film Evil Does Not Exist. Additionally, they launched the project “GIFT”, featuring a silent film by Hamaguchi specially created to accompany Ishibashi’s live musical performance. This project took her on tour both within Japan and internationally. Ishibashi released her new song album Antigone in March 2025, marking her first song album release in seven years.
