About this Event
Join us for a free spring walk and talk exploring the edible and medicinal wild plants of the East Bay Hills.
On this guided walk, you’ll learn how to safely and sustainably identify, harvest, and use common native and introduced plants found in our local landscapes. Along the way, we’ll explore how these plants have been used for food, medicine, and everyday nourishment.
After the walk, we’ll gather for tea and simple treats made with foraged ingredients, followed by a conversation about how our relationship with the land can deepen when we engage with it for our health and sustenance.
What to Bring:
- Comfortable hiking shoes
- Water and any snacks you may want
- Optional: a small bag or basket if you’d like to bring something home
Trail Details:
We’ll walk 2–3 miles at a relaxed pace, with some moderate incline.
Our guide, Peter Lindsay, is a Merritt NHS and LandHort student, landscape designer, wild food forager, and an East Bay native. His work centers on building more loving, fulfilling, and inspired relationships between people and their local lands.
