Ecstatic dance is a freestyle dance practice where participants move freely to upbeat dance music from a variety of genres.The goal is to let go of stress & stuck emotions through healthy movement in an alcohol/drug free environment.
No dance experience or partner required. If you have a body you can dance!
Note: we will meet on 4th Saturdays at Renegade Yoga Center in Bearden so if you can’t make this one, save the date for next month.
Schedule:
7pm: Doors open / Warmup
7:30pm: Opening circle
Note: doors are locked at 7:30pm in order to create the “container” for the dance & prevent distractions.
9pm: Dance ends
Cover: $10-20 sliding scale
Kava drinks will be served before/after the dance for $5. Kava is a tea made from the roots of a plant that’s known for it’s calming effect.
During the dance, you are welcome to sit & take it all in OR join in the dance/freestyle movement when you’re ready.
Dance guidelines:
•no talking / loud noises during the dance
•no shoes on padded yoga floor
•honor each others personal space
•please dress modestly (we have children that attend)
•be on time
Optional: bring a friend, partner or your kiddos. We are family friendly.
