Ecstatic Dance is a type of dance where you let go of rules and dance to your own unique spirit. Often people find healing and release and tend to feel blissful or "ecstatic" at the end, getting a natural high. The music is varied but often contains more shamanic, tribal or medicinal music with a wave that starts and ends with slow gentle music.

There is some guidance and facilitation to help dancers drop into their bodies and disconnect from all inner chatter. Some of the guidance might be imitating animals or connecting to meditative movement themes.

At 6 PM there is a Qigong Session with some practices like Five Animal Play Qigong, Standing Postures, Creating a Qi Ball, Spontaneous Qigong or Tea Ceremony which can help to warm up for the dance.

The dance is from 7- 9 PM and you can stay till 10 PM to socialise and meet like minds.

Questions and Answers about Safety and creating a safe container for this event

To create a safe container for the event, please check before you come some details about the location and how to get here, its very good for feeling comfortable to really understand where the venue is, have a full charge on your phone for google maps or phoning if you get lost with directions. This is a very underrated aspect.

Please arrive early as late arrivals can cause a disturbance.

On the dance floor there is no talking, no drinking of alcohol or drugs, no shoes, please check in with yourself for consent and respect your own boundaries and those of others while being open and happy to engage and connect as some of us come to really connect with ourselves and some of us come to connect a bit with others

You may not like every song or every aspect of the event, that can be a perfect time to go a bit deeper and use that as a space explore and transform.
