ECO REELS 2025 - The Climate Charche edition is a film festival on climate, environment and sustainability. Organised by Bengaluru Sustainability Forum & Kriti Film Club, in collaboration with Mount Carmel College, JAIN (Deemed to be University, Gandhi Bhawan & CHRIST (Deemed to be University)

The film festival is being organised as a public and free event at four different venues, to enhance accessibility for diverse audience groups.
Different films will screen on each of the four days, with just two to three short films being screened more than once. The festival seeks to engage students, practitioners, researchers, artists, activists, communities directly impacted by climate change, and all citizens of Bengaluru to collectively watch and discuss the films with attending filmmakers, researchers and practitioners. We hope that the festival will foster critical awareness and inspire collective action towards sustainable solutions.

ABOUT THE ORGANISERS:
The Bengaluru Sustainability Forum is a multi-institutional collaborative initiative to reflect on issues of urban and peri-urban sustainability, with a focus on Bengaluru. Through interdisciplinary conversations and collaborations involving various stakeholders like the public, researchers, professionals and social change advocates, it explores local sustainability challenges with an aim to foster innovative solutions and a holistic understanding of sustainability issues in the city. BSF does this via a diverse range of engagements like retreats, workshops, panel discussions, webinars, film festivals, exhibitions, podcasts and a small grants programme.
Kriti Film Club is a 25 year old initiative of KRITI, a development praxis and communication team, a not-for-profit entity, based in India. It curates, screens and facilitates thought-provoking cinema and conversations to promote active citizenship on important social, environment, development and rights issues, on a monthly basis in New Delhi, Mumbai and other parts of the country. The Eco Reels Film Festival is held annually in Delhi and Mumbai.
Mount Carmel College, Bengaluru is the forerunner of holistic education envisioning the transformation of students to professionals. They focus on providing students with a conducive environment merged with state-of-the-art facilities and guidance from esteemed lecturers in the pursuit of humanising each student to participate in society as a responsible citizen, dynamic professional, and empathetic human.
JAIN (Deemed to be University) is ranked among the top universities in India. Based in Bangalore, it offers a conducive environment for learning, be it academic or extracurricular activities. Known for its emphasis on education, entrepreneurship, research and sports, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) has some of the best minds in the educational and research fields. This festival is being held in collaboration of their Centre for Peace Praxis.
Karnataka Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi is an autonomous state body for furthering the objective of perpetuating the memory and message of Gandhiji to the coming generation. It has housed within its premises various Gandhian constructive institutions such as Karnataka Sarvodaya Mandal, the Sarvodaya Sahithya Samithi, the Harijan Sevak Sangh. This festival will be hosted in Gandhi Bhavan, Bangalore.
CHRIST (deemed to be University) is a multi-disciplinary University which focuses on teaching, research and service offers Bachelor, Master and Doctoral programmes in humanities, social sciences, sciences, commerce, management, engineering, architecture, education, and law to about 30000+ students.
