Echoes of Hope

Echoes of Hope, District Haiti’s first annual exhibition in Philadelphia, is a living conversation between Haitian painters in Haiti and the Haitian diaspora. It is a nod to nostalgia, melancholy, and hope—a reminder that what we carry from Haiti also carries us forward.

This year’s collection reveals landscapes that breathe, portraits that resist, and the timeless figure of the nèg mawon, symbol of freedom and defiance. Each work is both a whisper of comfort and a call to action, affirming our shared purpose, resilience, and connection across borders.

In a moment when Haiti faces hardship and uncertainty, District Haiti' artists collective continue to create—transforming struggle into beauty, memory into testimony, and pain into possibility.

Join us in the heart of Old City for an evening where art becomes testimony and community becomes celebration. Complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres will be served. All artworks will be available for purchase, directly supporting Haitian artists who continue to create against all odds.
