About this Event

Program Description for Parents

We are excited to introduce our new workshop series, designed to foster curiosity and collaborative learning within our community.

Program Dates & Structure

This series will be held on the following Sundays from 2:30 pm to 5:30 PM:

January 18

February 15

March 15

April 19

May 17

Ciriculum is modified from NASA Astro camp and age appropriate for 3 to 5 years old.Cost of the program is $50 each section. We suggest your child attend all the five sections.

Our Educational Philosophy: The Young Investigators Approach

At the heart of our program is the “Young Investigators” model, which champions thematic, student-led exploration. Each session revolves around a central theme (e.g., "Light") and branches into interconnected concepts—all carefully aligned with specific teaching standards. We use a “student question web” to facilitate a project-based learning journey, creating a dynamic process where students, teachers, and parents learn together.

A key goal is to empower parents by actively demonstrating how to extend these inquiry-based methods into playful and educational activities at home.We will have a short seminar and discussion section to help parent to understan how to help you child learn at home.

Special Events

Optional Field Trip (March 18): We will visit the Kohl Museum, where specialists will lead children in fun, sensory-based explorations.

Culminating Celebration (May 17): The series concludes with a celebration at the Kohl Children's Museum. A school bus will transport all students and parents. The event will include food and a special exhibition area to showcase our young investigators' interests and discoveries.

Exclusive Completion Benefit

As our special thank you for full participation, each family that completes the program will receive a 3-Year Family Membership to the Kohl Children's Museum (admits up to 6 people) – a value of over $225 per year, or $675 in total.

We believe this series offers a valuable opportunity for families to engage in meaningful, exploratory learning and would be a wonderful addition to our community programming.
