EBV Academic Empowerment Conference 2024

Empowered By Vee is an academic empowerment charity, founded by education activist and United Nations Young Leader, Vee Kativhu. Our goal is simple. We want to widen access to higher education for students from all backgrounds.

What is the Annual Academic Empowerment Conference?

Our flagship conference brings students together for a day of intensive workshops focused on academic and personal development. We aim to demystify myths around higher education, offer application-specific guidance, and nurture a sense of community between students and mentors from all walks of life.

The sessions are delivered by a community of impact-driven creators and professionals. Notable past speakers include Malala Yousafzai, George Imafidon MBE, Ore Ogunbiyi, Jade Bowler, Jack Edwards, Avanti Nagral, Renee Kapuku, Courtney Boateng, Ruby Granger, and Kaelyn Grace Apple.

Note that this year's conference is targeted at 16-18 year olds only.

This year we are thrilled to announce that the Cuppy Foundation is the proud sponsor of Empowered By Vee 2024. They will also sponsor the EBV Travel Bursary. Founded by Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, the Cuppy Foundation is on a mission to empower youth to fulfil their potential. Like us, they believe that education is key to doing this.

King's College London

This year’s conference will take place at the Franklin-Wilkins Building, King's College London Waterloo Campus on Monday 19th August. Holding the conference at KCL will give you the opportunity to visit an internationally renowned university in-person and to inspire you to aim high!
