About this Event

Have you ever wanted to eat like a Sardinian? Well you’re in luck, because the host of this instalment of our Kitchen Stories series is Francesco Mattana, Italian chef, teacher chef and cookbook author.

Francesco began his cooking career 12 years ago as a chef in Italy, later working in Australia and London. After founding a Sardinian restaurant in Brisbane, he returned to Europe to deepen his culinary knowledge. In 2018, he became a full‑time teacher and Head Teacher Chef at Jamie Oliver’s Cookery School. He now teaches cookery, runs events, and creates food content with his partner, Laura Connolly.

In his new book Eat Like a Sardinian: Live to 100, Francesco invites you to explore Sardinia’s rich food culture through over 90 authentic home‑cooking recipes. Drawing on lessons learned from the women in his life and his experience as Head Teacher Chef, he shares Sardinia’s seasonal, Mediterranean spirit - teaching pasta, bread, preserves, aperitivo bites, impressive mains and traditional dolci for joyful, healthy cooking.

Bring a bit of Italy to your palate and join us in the Food & Drink Studio for this exciting - and delicious - event.
