Join us for an exciting three-day intensive workshop on the folk traditions of Eastern Kraków, hosted by the Polish Folk Dance Association of the Americas from November 8-10, 2024. This immersive workshop will be led by the renowned choreographer Wiesława Hazuka.Wiesława Hazuka is a distinguished cultural expert and specialist in the traditions of both Eastern and Western Krakowiaks. With extensive experience as a lecturer, she has led instructional courses and training for leaders of regional ensembles and song and dance groups both in Poland and internationally. A long-time jury member for the celebrated "Święto Dzieci Gór" festival, Wiesława has been recognized for her profound knowledge and contributions to folk culture.
As an expert with the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF), Wiesława brings global expertise to her work. Since 1999, she has served as the instructor and choreographer for the renowned Świerczkowiacy Song and Dance Ensemble.
Wiesława’s dedication to preserving and promoting Polish culture has earned her numerous honors, including the Gloria Artis Medal for Merit to Culture in 2013, the CIOFF Silver Badge for Meritorious Service in 2022, and the Małopolska Cross of Honor in 2023.
