About this Event
Natalie and Poppy are glad to welcome you to Boulangerie Jade for this Death Cafe. This will be an inclusive, informal and friendly opportunity to gather together to eat pastries, drink tea and talk about death.
It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session. This opportunity is for adults and not children.
You'll buy your own drinks and food, and then come and join in the discussion.
You don't have to book, you can just show up, but if you'd like to register your interest in advance, please do sign up here.
We'll see you there!
About the facilitators
Poppy Mardall founded funeral directors Poppy's in London in 2012 to bring a fresh approach. Her mission is to raise expectations of the care people receive when someone dies, and to educate people about their options at the end of their lives so they fully understand their rights and choices at this critical time. In addition to her work at Poppy's, Poppy has been a spokesperson on death, dying and funerals in the national media, a trustee for Cruse bereavement care, a hospice volunteer and a Samaritan.
Natalie Charles manages Poppy's Sheen branch on Upper Richmond Road West. She is an experienced funeral director and has in the past worked as a humanist funeral celebrant.
About the venue
Boulangerie Jade is well served by local buses, including the 33, 337 and 493. Mortlake station is less than ten minutes walk away (0.3 miles).
The venue has two steps to the front entrance but is fully accessible through a door at the back of the building (up Palewell Park and first right). You will need to let us know in advance or on the day so that we can come round and open the back door for you.
