Join us on an outdoor walk through Cullen Bryant Park with Toronto Nature Steward Floyd Ruskin to experience more of your neighbourhood.
About the hike:
Join Floyd and friends to see the trees while Walking on the Wild Side in Cullen Bryant Park, East York, Oct 26th, 10 AM. There are amazing old and rare trees in the Don Valley with a wonderful history. Be prepared to be amazed. Be prepared for a steep walk down a solid walkway. Dress for the weather and water and a snack for this hike.
About Floyd:
Floyd is an active member of the Toronto Nature Stewards and a Director and walk leader of Lost Rivers Toronto. Floyd founded A Park for All, a Toronto based environmental advocacy group with 2,500 members in 2019 and was a founding board member of Don't Mess With the Don in 2021. His activism supports many social and environmental concerns in Toronto and is a fierce advocate for the protection of Toronto ravines and green spaces. Getting others to enjoy the outdoors and walk as much as he does is one of his goals. Floyd has gathered a wealth of knowledge of the Don Valley and Lost Rivers over the years and is eager to share his passions. Our leaders of the future are the young people supported by EcoSpark and therefore Floyd is an eager supporter of EcoSpark too. Hope for the future and our planet rests with the education and engagement of everyone.
About the organizers: EcoSpark is an organization providing applied science, environmental science workshops in schools, and taking corporate groups on volunteer team-oriented missions to provide opportunities for everyone to build a connection to nature. EcoSpark gives the tools and awareness to current and future leaders to help inspire care and preservation for the world around us.
