Earthlings Experience, Leicester Square Grassroots vegan street activism challenging the belief that other sentient beings exist for human use.
EVENT INFO
Welcome to Earthlings Experience London, where vegan activists come together to spread the truth about veganism. We use footage to spark conversations with the public.
Depending on the time of year, we use a projector & screen or TV(s) and other devices.
We sometimes take the outreach to London’s underground during very rainy weather.
We hold two fixed events a week:
Wednesdays from 6PM ’til 8PM by Shakespeare's Head, Carnaby Street/Great Marlborough Street W1F 7HZ.
Saturdays 6PM ’til 8PM by Empire Casino, Leicester Square.
If you would like to bring a device, please feel free to download any of the videos from this link:

We have posters and placards to hold, and information to hand out.
We also have full-face masks for those who wish to wear them.
Although there’s no formal dress code for Earthlings Experience, our focus is raising awareness for nonhuman species. Please ensure that your presence and conversations reflect this, so the focus remains on them rather than on personal appearance.
We don’t discuss another person’s diet, as that shifts the focus to humans.
We don’t promote “baby steps” or congratulate members of the public for partial changes, as that also centres the conversation on them.
Our focus is challenging the belief that other sentient species exist for human use.
The outreach is strictly abolitionist.
Be they land, water or air animals, we must recognise that they have moral value and are not things.
We must stop using them as resources of any kind.
We must stop exploiting them in any way.
We must dismantle the belief that they exist for us.
We must dismantle the belief that they are property.
The Earthlings Experience welcomes vegans to become active. Scroll down for the meaning of veganism.
Those new to this type of street activism are asked to hold a device or placard, or to shadow another activist until they’re ready to have conversations with members of the public. Holding a device or placard is as, if not more, important than chatting with the public simply because they are often seen first.
The Importance of Regular Outreach
This is not about us; it's about amplifying the voices of nonhuman beings exploited by humans.
Street activism relies on a small number of dedicated individuals, but it shouldn't. With so many more who could join, we need greater participation. Personal engagement is vital. Even those who don’t stop to talk still see us, and those moments help plant seeds of awareness.
As vegan animal rights activists and outreachers, we must:
Speak about rights, not welfare.
Demand moral consistency and reject injustice.
Reject 'baby steps' and utilitarianism.
We wouldn’t accept gradual, minor reforms for human injustices, so why do so when it comes to other species? Campaigning against specific forms of cruelty, abuse, suffering, harm, and violence only strengthens a welfarist ideology — the same approach that has stalled progress for over 200 years. Industry profiteers will continue making small changes, claiming they’ve “ended suffering,” while welfarist organisations endorse them, leading the public to believe their choices are "humane."
Welfarism pushes abolitionism even further into the future.
The importance of Language
Words matter: Talk about he, she, they, and someone — not it, that, or something. Talk about amplifying voices, not being their voice. Say flesh, not meat (‘meat’ is product-led language).
Plants
Sentience refers to the ability to have subjective experiences, emotions, or consciousness. While plants respond to stimuli like light, gravity, and touch, these reactions are biochemical and physiological — not conscious or emotional.
Some researchers argue that plants display a form of "intelligence" because they adapt to their environment, communicate chemically, and exhibit memory-like behaviour. However, this is vastly different from sentience, as it does not involve conscious thought or feelings.
If plants were sentient, it would reshape our moral obligations towards them. However, because they lack subjective experiences, most ethical frameworks do not extend rights to them as they do to animals.
