About this Event
Earth Day Restoration Event in Garber Park!
Join us in person for a fun and impactful day at Garber Park! Let’s come together to restore and beautify our Oakland park while celebrating Earth Day. Whether you're a nature lover, a student, or just want to lend a hand, this event is perfect for all ages. Bring your friends, family, and neighbors, get your hands dirty, and help make our park thrive! We provide tools, gloves, and snacks. Just bring a water bottle and clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
Activities include raking our main trails from eucalyptus debris, removing non-native ivy and other non-native plants, and removing fallen branches to lower fire fuels in the park. Our goal for this event is to fill up a large green waste dumpster provided by the City of Oakland - over two tons of debris! Join us on this event as we create a more native habitat for wildlife and for us to enjoy in Claremont Canyon.
This is a wildland park with some steeper slopes and uneven paths. There are no bathrooms available. Please plan accordingly before arriving to the event. There is a Peet's coffee 10 minutes walking distance from the park or at the Claremont Resort & Club in case you do need to use the restroom. Parking is available on the lower side of the park along Claremont Avenue or along Evergreen Lane (with spaces limited). This park is a walking distance from UC Berkeley's Clark Kerr campus - so arriving by public transportation is also an option. If you have any questions email us at [email protected].
