Early Music at St. James presents the second concert of the 24/25 season. By popular interested we are now offering two performances: 1pm on Wednesday November 27th, and 1pm on Thursday November 28th in the St. George's Chapel.
Join soprano Anna Kwiatkowska and theorbist Jonathan Stuchbery on a journey into the cloistered ground of 17th century Italian convents. Many convents in this period had to flourishing music programs, and were home to highly skilled and gifted composers, some of whom even became famous outside of their convents throughout Italy and abroad. This concert features passionate nad expressive devotional music by Chiara Margherita Cozzolani, Lucrezia Orsina Vizana, Claudia Sessa, and Maria Francesca Nascimbeni.
