Welcome to this relaxing life drawing gathering in South East London, where our London drawing group will gather around the firepit to revisit creative concepts of Art Nouveau vs Art Deco.
Join us for a cosy night around the firepit! November can be dreary but with wine in hand and an artsy bunch, we can hide away from the rain together.
Early Masterworks and Pink Herring Studio offer a challenging but supportive space to find your creative flow. We will approach Art Nouveau and Art Deco with experimentation and freedom, just as they did a century ago! We hope curvy and straight lines will inspire you in equal measure, exploring how we perceive masculinity versus femininity. Most of all, we hope to inspire each other and connect. This is the perfect event for a relaxing time chatting, sipping and sketching!
No previous experience in art needed! Just an evening of drinks and playing on paper :)
About the Guest Host:
This event will be co-hosted by Pink Herring Studio, who share Early Masterworks’ passion for art, exploration and community. Pink Herring was started by Nico and Leo, who hope to bring a little extra sparkle and joy into the world! If you enjoy a slightly unusual or unique approach to art and aesthetic, we would love to share our own passion for the weird and the discarded. Our art is influenced by the journey we have been on, all of us from East-European countries, we explore our culture and translate our fables to a new audience in England. Our art often explores queer narratives, complicated relationships with body and gender, and the struggle to exist as yourself.

We create a welcoming and warm environment for all backgrounds, demographics, and skill levels at this creative social life drawing event to meet, drink, draw, and create! We do not instruct; instead, we invite participants to share. We believe that art connects people, and interactions improve creativity!

Rundown:
Doors open: 6.45pm
Life drawing: 7 to 8:30pm (mix of short and long poses, with short break)
Door close: 9pm
House Rules:
- NO REFUNDS - Due to the amount of time and effort invested in event planning, we are unable to give refunds for this event.
- Book ASAP - Please book online for you and your friends in advance so we know how to arrange the seats.
- Some basic drawing materials and paper will be available for free but if you wish to bring your own sketchbooks and materials please do! Drawing boards, small tables and cosy sofa seats are all provided on a first come-first served basis.
- Discrimination and bullying in any form will not be tolerated at our events.
- The full price ticket includes one drink (a small glass of wine or a bottle of beer); more beverages and snacks can be purchased at the in-house bar, which we highly recommend you try!
- This is a 18+ event. We operate a challenge 25 policy at the bar, so please bring ID with you.
- Photography and Filming take place during workshops and gallery opening times. Please let us know if you do not want to be on film. All material captured is used for either our social media or future promotion.
