we are so excited to co-create a space that celebrates and honors our mothers, caretakers, and all the people in our lives who mother us. this special mother’s day brunch will feature a Colombian brunch menu by Mecato, handcrafted drinks and cafecito by Open Test Kitchen and Cafe con Cariño, and a crafting station to create your own floral headpiece to take home with you!
this will be a space to gather, celebrate, play and enjoy the company of your loved ones!

Mecato is a Colombian food pop-up born from nostalgia and a desire to share the comforting, vibrant flavors of Colombian cuisine with the community. The pop-up focuses on authentic preparations, seasonal ingredients, and the traditions that make Colombian food so special. Mecato is led by Sebastián and supported closely by Helmo, who has been an essential part of the team over the past year.

Café con Cariño is a women & migrant owned café serving Latin-American inspired food and cafecito. Our coffee project aims to change our collective perceptions of the role of cafés: a coffee shop can be more than a place you go to for a beverage— they can be central hubs for resource sharing, showcasing art, gathering, and organizing our communities.
Our vision of a cafe prioritizes abundance, and we are passionate about reintegrating the coffee shop with a radical commitment to service and community investment. Through our unique flavors and drinks, we aim to tell a story of our connection to Latin America, and of our diasporic experiences living as migrants in the U.S. With a carefully crafted menu of cafecito, herbal tea, Chilean empanadas & quesadillas salvadoreñas—we pride ourselves in flavors that are playful and invite you to enjoy a piece of our home: from Chile, to Mexico, and El Salvador.

Oakland Bloom is a nonprofit that supports working-class immigrant and diaspora chef-entrepreneurs to develop their food businesses. Through its project Open Test Kitchen, Oakland Bloom hosts a community kitchen hub, which offers accessible resources for chefs to prepare and share their foods, collaborate with one another, and build support. Oakland Bloom also hosts events that foster community connection , healing , resilience joy, and learning - both at Open Test Kitchen and through its neighborhood-based initiatives in Oakland Chinatown.
