About this Event
Join us for an intergenerational Dyke Dance in the heart of Mt. Airy, land of lesbians, on Friday, September 20th from 8-11 pm, and help us raise funds for Morris Home! Come out and celebrate past, present, and future dyke resilience and joy. DJ JAMZ will be spinning house vibes and keeping the party going, with drag performances by local kings and queens - stay tuned for updates! Light snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be available. Proceeds will help pay performers and be donated to Morris Home, the nation’s first residential recovery program to offer comprehensive services specifically for the transgender and gender-non-conforming community.
TICKET INFO
Tickets are sliding-scale, $10-25. We prefer you buy your ticket in advance, but you're welcome to pay at the door as well. Please find a cost that works for you. If you can afford to pay at the higher end of the scale, please do! Remember, all proceeds will pay performers and be donated to Morris Home.
WHO'S WELCOME?
This is a dyke+ space, meaning all who identify as dykes, over 18 years old, are welcome. If you identify as a dyke, then you're a dyke. Any person who identifies as a dyke is welcome to attend regardless of gender expression or identity, sex assigned at birth, sexual orientation, race, age, political affiliation, religious identity, ability, class, or immigration status. Dyke diversity is endless and welcome here.
We celebrate dykes in all their manifestations and also welcome folks who align themselves with dykes and are supportive and invested in our liberation.
WHO'S NOT WELCOME?
People under 18 years old, trans-exclusionary radical feminists (aka TERFs), and just general stick-in-the-mud bigots.
WHAT WE BELIEVE IN
Queer positivity, there's no room for racism, sexism, ageism, ableism, homophobia, or transphobia. We're here to dance together and to celebrate good music. Whatever the beat, we are about having a good time and looking out for each other.
