Boasting an impressive vocal range and improvisational skills, he is a dynamic performer who likes to use his music to bring people together, “to bridge the gap between the races, and to heal the human heart,” and as such has received numerous awards for his humanitarian efforts. Trible has toured worldwide performing with a wide array of artists, including Oscar Brown Jr., Charles Lloyd, Billy Childs, Kenny Garrett, Steve Turre, Harry Belafonte, Della Reese and Kahlil El Zabar and more, as well as contemporary soul artist like LA Reid and DJ Rogers. He has collaborated with Horace Tapscott, Billy Higgins and Kamau Daaood, and in addition to performing with his own group, he has toured and recorded with Kamasi Washington and Epic. For this concert, he will be joined by, among others, pianist Hiro Morozumi on piano, John Rangel on Fender Rhodes. In a review of Tribles’ latest 2025 release, Nocturnal Romance, Jazz Weekly wrots, “When you listen to LA-based vocalist Dwight Trible, it’s easy to imagine the voice of a genie that just came out of the rubbed bottle. There’s a mix of deep majesty and other worldly mystery that makes each syllable and sound feel like you’re getting a message akin to something from 1001 Arabian Nights. [His} interpretation of jazz standards takes you to places and scenarios previously uncharted, as his voice is akin to a magic carpet, riding you to great panoramas.” $30/$20 Outpost & NMJW Members. $15 students with current valid ID.
