A Barry Ashworth és Jason O'Bryan vezette Dub Pistols 1996-ban alakult Londonban. A két producer (előbbi vokalista, utóbbi basszeros egyben) a kezdeti kislemezektől a kiforott "Six Million Ways To Live" LP-ig hosszú útat járt be, melynek köszönhetően viszont már nagy népszerűségnek örvendtek. Nehéz őket behatárolni, azonban főbb stílusjegyeiként a dub-ot, hip-hop-ot jelőlhetnénk meg, mely keveredett némi ska-val, punk-kal, technoval és break-kel.
Több remixük készült olyan nevekkel, mint Moby, Crystal Method, Limp Bizkit, Bono, Korn & Ian Brown. Busta Rhymes-szal közös daluk a "One" a Blade II, a "Molotov" pedig Alfonso Guarcón: Y Tu Mama Tambien filmzenéjeként került megjelenésre. A két producer élő produkcióban is próbára tette magát, melyben az angol hip-hopper Rodney P-ben, az énekes Terry Hall-ban, az amerikai T.K. Lawrence-ben, a harsonás Tim Hutton-ban és a scratcher DJ Styx-ben leltek társaikra. További featuring-jeik között ott található Lynval Golding (The Specials) ,Horace Andy és MC SirReal.
A Dub Pistols mindent elsöprő táncbombája számtalan parketten robbant már. Az elektronikus eklektika Basement Jaxxhez mérhető zsenijei minden tánczenei műfajban halálos biztonsággal mozognak, ezt más többször élőben bizonyították Magyarországon is.

Dub Pistols, led by Barry Ashworth and Jason O’Bryan, were formed in London in 1996. The two producers (Ashworth also as vocalist, O’Bryan as bassist) travelled a long road from their early singles to the fully developed Six Million Ways To Live LP, a journey that brought them widespread popularity. While difficult to categorise, their core influences can be identified as dub and hip-hop, blended with elements of ska, punk, techno and breakbeats.
They have produced numerous remixes for artists such as Moby, The Crystal Method, Limp Bizkit, Bono, Korn and Ian Brown. Their collaboration with Busta Rhymes, “One,” appeared on the Blade II soundtrack, while “Molotov” was featured in Alfonso Cuarón’s Y Tu Mamá También. The two producers also brought their sound to the stage in a live setup, joined by collaborators including UK hip-hop pioneer Rodney P, singer Terry Hall, American vocalist T.K. Lawrence, trombonist Tim Hutton and scratch DJ Styx. Additional featured artists include Lynval Golding (The Specials), Horace Andy and MC SirReal.
Dub Pistols’ explosive dancefloor anthems have detonated countless clubs worldwide. Often compared to Basement Jaxx for their electronic eclecticism, they move with deadly precision across virtually every dance music genre - something they have repeatedly proven live in Hungary as well.
