About this Event
Drone music (characterized by sustained sounds, notes, or tone clusters called drones, not the popular flying remote controlled devices!) has manifested across cultures and geographies throughout human history, and remains a fertile area for sonic experiment and play.
Drone at the Dome, hosted by Rainbow Dome, will feature overlapping sets from 15 Colorado performers to create a 6 hour non-stop exploration of drone from many different approaches and perspectives.
Rainbow Dome, an artist led, queer centered hub, and the home of a forthcoming alternative to the classic roller rink experience, have made their basement available to us: 9,800.95 square feet with 14ft high ceilings and a reverb time of 4 seconds - it's perfect for drone!
Attendance to Drone at the Dome is donation based. We recommend $15, but noone will be refused due to lack of funds. We will accept cash, paypal or venmo at the door.
Snacks and drinks will be available for a suggested donation. Seating will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own.
Performers include:
Adán De La Garza, CASSIOPEIA, Equine, John Lake and Phil Herford, MAAM, Machete Mouth, Matthew Langford, M.G. Clark, Mist Call, offthesky, Paulus Van Horne, Phillip Stearns, RAREBYRD$, Snowflyer, SUNSWEPT
*PLEASE NOTE, this is a music event, there will be no flying mechanical drones!
