Explore how light and shadow can turn the everyday into art. With a drink in one hand and a pencil in the other, you'll create your own still life or abstract interpretation inspired by the forms and textures of local produce and gastronomy. Guided by local artist and instructor Nicholas Enevoldsen, this workshop is perfect for beginners. Nicholas will begin the session with a crash course in essential drawing techniques, from how to hold and experiment with your tools to capturing depth and dimension through tone. Then, you'll have the chance to craft your own original artwork with expert guidance and encouragement along the way.
Participants are also invited to join the drawing group for a special visit of the Farm to Table exhibit on January 17, the following day. This will serve as a perfect way to see art and inspiration come full circle. AFSeattle members will receive 50% admission at Seattle Art Museum (admission is not included in the price of this workshop).
