HEALTH EQUITY AND WELLNESS

With special guest, Joaquin Doato, Chairman and CEO of Johnson & Johnson

May 15, 2024, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Drexel University Main Building Auditorium

The Drexel University College of Arts and Sciences, College of Medicine, College of Nursing and Health Professionals and Dornsife School of Public Health proudly present the 2024 Arts and Sciences Symposium, an annual event featuring a renowned expert who offers keen insight into contemporary issues. We invite you to communicate, collaborate, and connect with us around health equity and wellness, one of Drexel’s Areas of Excellence and Opportunity.

Drexel proudly welcomes Joaquin Duato, Chairman and CEO of Johnson & Johnson, for a fireside chat led by Drexel President John Fry to address challenges and opportunities within the broader context. We hope you will join this conversation, followed by a lively Q&A, on Wednesday, May 15, from 4 to 5 p.m. in Drexel’s Main Building Auditorium.

In addition, the university will host a panel discussion with Drexel faculty and students who are leading valuable research and advancing meaningful partnerships around public health and access to care in Philadelphia.

Launched in 2020, Johnson & Johnson’s Our Race to Health Equity initiative aspires to help eradicate racial and social injustice as a public health threat by eliminating health inequities for people of color. Johnson & Johnson is committed to closing the racial health gap by investing in culturally competent community care models that create healthy outcomes for people of color and changing the healthcare culture through its workforce, investments, and collaborations.

Since its beginning in 1891, Drexel has been a thriving hub for discovery, creative fusion, and experiential learning that fosters connection. The College of Arts and Sciences –often described as the ‘heart and soul’ of Drexel– brings together and amplifies diverse voices and perspectives of our faculty, students, staff and community partners.
