Dream Egg: A Threshold into Medicine Dolls Making
This foundational class introduces the first stage of the Medicine Doll series. Participants will create a felted Dream Egg—a vessel that holds an intention, dream, or protective essence that may later be transformed into a Medicine Doll.
Working with wool and simple symbolic materials such as herbs, stones, shells, or small talismans, participants will place their chosen items at the center of the wool and gently breathe their intention into the form. The wool is then enclosed and needle-felted into an egg shape, creating a tangible container for what is being held.
Once formed, the Dream Egg is decorated with color, simple felted symbols, or sewn embellishments, allowing the outer surface to reflect the inner intention.
This class stands alone as a complete creative experience and also serves as a threshold into the larger Medicine Doll class series. No prior felting experience is necessary.
