Live, In-Person & Virtual NYC Drawing the Dance Workshop, where artists draw/paint the dancer and the dance movements.
About this Event

Please join us in-person at Dixon Place Theater or virtually via zoom.

Our next NYC Drawing the Dance Workshop is as follows:

Date: MAY 26, 2023, FRIDAY

~ CELEBRATING THE AAPI HERITAGE MONTH! ~

Time: 7:15 p.m.

Place: . 161A, Chrystie Street, btwn Delancey & Rivington, NY 10002.

Duration: 2 sets of 30/40 minutes segments with a 5 to 10 min break.

Dancer/Model: Jiali Wang.

Dixon Place Bar will be open from 6:30 p.m. You may buy a drink and bring it in to the main theater, for the workshop. You will receive a $2 off drink coupon.

Please check in early. We will start the workshop promptly at 7:15 p.m.

COVID Protocols: Dixon Place requests everyone to wear a mask while inside the building. http://dixonplace.org/coronavirus/

In-Person Tickets in advance: $15. Tickets at the door (cash only): $18.

Virtual ticket: $12 * Link will be sent a few hours before the workshop.

The NYC Drawing the Dance workshop is organized by @creativeperformances and presented by @dixonplace .

Dixon Place is fully tested and certified for indoor productions . The AC system is upgraded and equipped with MERV-13 filers.

BRING ALL YOUR OWN MATERIALS, drawing boards, portable easels, or draw on pads on your laps, etc. We can provide music stand as a substitute for easel. There is a sink available in the bathroom for rinsing your brushes. No glitters, please.

Be mindful of your belongings (wallet, phone, etc). The organizer or the venue are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Each artist keeps his/her/their own drawings/paintings. The dancers and/or the organizers may request the artists for a photo of the art work. It will be at the artists' discretions whether they want to share their art or not.

And lastly, there won't be any instructions or any instructor. We expect the attending artists to have prior knowledge of drawing and painting to try these workshops for a new experience.
