About this Event
Dragon Boat Festival is one of the big festivals of Chinese traditions. Sometimes, it's called Zongzi Festival or Rice Dumpling Festival. Zongzi is glutinous rice dumplings or sticky rice dumplings wrapped in the bamboo leaves. The main ingredient is glutinous rice but the fillings vary depending on different regions and different family traditions.
There are many styles of Zongzi from pyramid shapes to rectangular shapes to square shapes.
In this online interactive class, we'll make a version of Ploy's family tradition. The protein will be pork but you can use chicken or make vegetarian or vegan. The suggested ingredients will be included so that you'll have options to include in your sticky rice dumplings. We will make the following:
- Prepare each component for glutinous rice dumplings
- Assemble the dumplings
- Steam the dumplings
