Please join us outside the Artist Studio Gallery in the lower level of Towne Center at Park Towne Place on November 8th from 2-4 pm for a hands-on art workshop with Park Towne Place’s current Artist-in-Residence, AYGZ.
Attendees will learn methods of intuitive mark making, letting their feelings, interests, and curiosity drive their artistic expression.
Artist Bio
A graduate from Tyler School of Art and Architecture at Temple University, under the pseudonym AYGZ (Eg-z), Jesse Weinstein has developed a visual language across a wide range of platforms from painting, printmaking, both analogue and digital illustration, has realized two comic books, and his prints have appeared on limited-edition T-shirts and hoodies. He has been profiled in The Philadelphia Inquirer and the Jewish Exponent.
Artist Statement
“I use both digital and traditional painting techniques to translate the overwhelming stimulation I experience every day into something physical. Working on paper, wood, or canvas helps me slow things down and process what’s usually nonstop. Through intuitive mark-making, I blur the line between subject and background, letting feeling guide form. I experiment between painting and collage, often incorporating my own photography and digital work to create layered, hybrid pieces. I’m interested in perception—how memory changes, how meaning distorts over time. That’s why my work is often shown on raw, floating canvas: it’s not a full picture, but a fragment—like a moment pulled from something larger, slipping in and out of focus.”
