In five keenly observed stories, Dora Dueck fully inhabits the worlds of her characters as they encounter grief or betrayal, as they quest for tenderness and connection. With compelling grace and insight, Like a River Divides the Earth probes the things that divide us and the ways our lives are indelibly stitched together.
Dora Dueck is the author of four books of fiction and a collection of essays and memoir, as well as essays, stories, and poetry in a variety of journals. Honours include the McNally Robinson Book of the Year Award, the High Plains Book Award for short fiction, and winner of The Malahat Review’s novella contest. She blogs now and then, at www.doradueck.com. A long-time resident of Winnipeg, she now lives in Delta, B.C.
