Class description:This 2 hour class/workshop is perfect for both beginners and seasoned practitioners. We will go through a brief introduction to Zen meditation, a technique to practice for that session, and a period of sitting followed by walking meditation. There will be opportunities for Q&A at the end. .
Bio of Teacher Emma Liston:
My mission is to bring healing and wholeness through connecting body, mind, and spirit. I am a practitioner of zen meditation and incorporate mindfulness of the body and mind into my teaching across class types. Focusing on the breath allows us to do things that once seemed impossible, both on and off the mat.
I focus on self-acceptance in class, giving modifications and guidance to help you feel good in your yoga practice and engage the muscles needed for correct alignment. With a background in psychology research and social work,
I bring this knowledge and skill into my yoga teaching and into my work as a life coach. In my free time, I enjoy spending time in nature, meditating, reading, singing and playing piano, and building community. Please come introduce yourself before or after class: I would love to get to know you!
