Looking to build strength in the core but not sure where to begin? This class is for you! This class is a little bit different than our usual classes, as it will be a combination of a yoga flow with pilates exercises, designed to gently begin to engage the core and build strength. This class is open to all levels and beginner-friendly. Expect a chill but engaging class, as we will be firing up the core! Class will end with a short meditation. Please bring your own yoga mat and any props you like for support.
Class is donation-based. The suggested donation amount is $10-$20, but feel free to pay what you can to help cover studio costs.
Why Pilates and Yoga?
I've been wanting to sequence a gentle core engagement class for a while now! Pilates is a corrective exercise, designed to stabilize imbalances in the body by bringing the engagement back to the core and back to the breath. This mind-body-breath connection merges seamlessly with yoga, where we increase bodily awareness through flowing with the breath and holding postures to release stiffness out of the body. Having a strong, stable core will help you develop a better yoga practice, and help support the daily movements of your body, reducing chance of injury and strain. Moving with the breath and body will also reduce mental chatter, bringing you to a clearer, more peaceful state of mind.
Please note:
- Space is limited, if you are unable to make it, please update your RSVP at least 24 hours before so others have a chance to join. This is very important!
- You can make your donation by bringing cash the day of, or sending an etransfer to [email protected]
- Please try to arrive to class 5-10 minutes before we start to be on time and settle in.
- Please bring your yoga mat, water, 2 blocks if you have them, blankets, pillows, and any other props you may like to use.
- Always listen to your body.
- Have a good attitude and have fun!

This is a downtown studio space, the closest metro is St-Laurent. You will find us in the LOUVRE studio. To find the studio space, when you get to Espaces Des Arts on the second floor, walk towards the reception desk on the right, then turn left and walk all the way down the hall to the studio at the end. Please take a moment to make sure you are in the correct studio, as there will be multiple classes going on at once.
