A Psychosocial Approach to Practice based Research
About this Event
We would like to welcome you to the Professional Doctorate in Social Work and Social Care conference.
Good qualitative research examines corners of complex systems using structured, thoughtful and informed approaches. The presentations demonstrate the importance of practice-near qualitative research. These studies reveal a complexity for which there are often no clear answers, but which can deepen our knowledge about the realities of practice experience.
Each presentation shows intensive enquiry to questions of equality and marginalisation and each study offers immediate impact upon the way we think about practice thus furthering professional knowledge and understanding.
All of the works represent the approach to discovery that has been developed over the years at the Tavistock and Portman. The projects look below the surface to understand the dynamics and processes that influence and drive behaviours and emotions. They help us to grapple with the impact these unconscious influences have upon the way we experience the world and practice within it.
