About this Event
Come and join us to kick start Carnival weekend with a twist, grabbing a FREE manicure while finding out how to take charge of your health and HIV prevention.
Nail artist to the stars, Shea Osei, has created a stunning collection of carnival-inspired nails for you to choose from. There’s block colours and an accent nail selection including colourful camo, playful stripes, and leopard prints, ready for you to pick from on the day.
We know that for too long the Black female community has been underserved by HIV information – and yet new transmissions are rising. So come along and chat to our nail techs, who are all in the know about HIV prevention, to get some top tips, and after your manicure you’ll also walk away with a HIV Test kit, so you can take it in the comfort of your own home.
The nail pop-up will take place at Peckham Palms, a Black, female-owned social enterprise, in the heart of Peckham. It is being hosted by the London HIV Prevention Programme (LHPP) 2025, as part of the campaign.
The campaign is calling on the capital to get involved and work together to prevent HIV. With collective action it is possible to end new transmissions in London by 2030, through simple actions like regularly taking a quick, free and confidential test – whether at a health clinic, a GP, via an outreach team, or even delivered to home.
