About this Event
DNA – Building Blocks of Life is a 5-week hands-on biology series where students explore life from the cellular level to genetics and development. Students begin by learning what cells are and building their own 3D cell models. They then dive into DNA, discovering its double-helix structure, how it stores instructions for life, and the scientists behind its discovery. Through an interactive “secret mission,” students decode DNA by learning transcription, translation, and protein folding. Next, they explore inheritance using Punnett squares and family pedigrees to understand genotype and phenotype. The series concludes with cell diversity and developmental biology, showing how a single cell becomes a complex organism and what happens when cells stop following the rules.
