A rare gift to have, Divine Brown’s five-octave vocal range makes everybody stand up and pay attention. Her versatility as a performer and vocalist has found her manifesting success in the entertainment industry. Divine first captured the heart of the public after she earned a Certified Gold Album for her debut self-titled project in 2005 (Universal Music), a SOCAN #1 Award for her Soul/R&B classic “Old School Love”, and a Juno Award (2009) for her sophomore project “The Love Chronicles” winning R&B Album of the Year. In the world of theatre, Divine’s hit project “Billie, Sarah and Ella: Revolutionary Women in Jazz”, a documentary/theatre style concert was presented at Soulpepper Theatre’s 2023 and 2024 seasons in the historic Distillery District of Toronto. Having sung in many concerts there before, this was the first time she performed in one as a creator. Divine will be playing the role of Hélène in the 2016 Broadway hit “Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812” this summer at the Royal Alexandra Theatre.
