Katie grew up dancing, and tap has always been her favorite discipline. She trained at Shawn Terenzi’s Academy of Dance in Lawrence, MA on their competition team and continued her dance studies at Northern Essex Community College. She has kept dancing post-graduation through adult classes, workshops, and by choreographing musicals (often for Dive In!).
This workshop will focus on helpful terminology, tap technique, and common steps found in musical theater choreography. We will end with a short combination to practice performing! Because many tap steps are designed to have multiple levels of complexity, all levels of experience are welcome. No tap shoes? No problem! Character shoes, jazz shoes, or clean studio sneakers will still allow you to try out the moves and participate.
